The two excerpts above illustrate the principle of —
F.limited government
G.federalism
H.separation of powers
J.checks and balances

Answers

Answer 1

The scenarios described show that the United States follows the principles of:

F. Limited government G. Federalism

Limited government means that the actions of the government have to be dictated by its Constitution. The Texan Senate can charge the tax they charge because they have this power as granted to them by the Constitution of Texas.

Federalism implies that there are different levels of government in the United States with the two main levels being Federal and State. Both of these have separate powers which is why both were able to impose taxes on gasoline.

In conclusion, both limited government and federalism are on show here.

How is Japan treated differently than Africa during Imperialism?

Answers

Answer:

Read the following

Explanation:

So Japan had a period of moderniziation (The Meiji Restoration Period) where they developed rapidly and managed to get a military and navy similar to the major powers. However, they weren't seen as equals to the Europeans. Now they weren't colonized because, they did isolate themselves but when they were forced out of isolation, they knew they had to modernize or they'll become like the Qing Dynasty (modern day china) and have imperial powers take advantage of them and there lands. So unlike Africa, Japan actually had a realistic chance of defending themselves from invaders, something that would make invading Japan costly. Not only that, but after 1900 it would be almost impossible to treat the Japanese like they did to Africa, as they rapidly grew a European like military and navy. Also, they were one of the 11 nations that sent troops to Peking in the boxer rebellion, which kind of showed how the Japanese weren't equal to the Qing Dynasty, at least in terms of military and navy as they were shown to be much stronger. Finally in 1904, the Russo-Japanese war begun, and while Russia had the largest army in the world at that time (in terms of troop count) the Japanese managed to invade Manchuria which was partially owned by the Russians at that time. Also, they destroyed the Russian naval fleet, ending the chance of Russia ever being able to invade Japan again (at least until WW2). So after the Russo-Japanese war, Japan was considered a great power, and most likely the next asian hegemony, which they were for a time in WW2.

What issue continued to divide the country in the early 1800s?
A. the expansion of slavery
B. the elimination of slavery
C. westward expansion
D. European immigration

Answers

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Westward Expansion

During the 1800’s, American citizens packed up and headed West to the new unknown land of the United States of America. Western expansion was a great part of the growth of the

United States because it gave Americans new land to settle, expanded its economy, and made the

United States a world power. The desire to expand was described by newspaper editor John

O’Sullivan who wrote, it is America’s “Manifest Destiny to overspread and to possess the whole of the continent”.

First of all, westward expansion benefited the United States by increasing the area of settled property. This property included many different types of land. Farmers were able to buy fertile farmland cheaply in states like Iowa, Nebraska, and…show more content…

Tens of thousands of people moved, creating future cities like San Francisco and Denver. The completion of the transcontinental railroad connected the Atlantic and Pacific coasts allowing for the shipping of goods across the country. Western farm products like wheat, corn, beef, and poultry were shipped east to feed the growing number of workers in factories in cities like Philadelphia,

Boston, and New York. The increase in land, natural resources, and industry gave the United

States a larger role in the world.

Finally, westward expansion secured the United States by pushing foreign powers off of the continent. By controlling both coasts, the country was protected by the oceans, therefore separating it from the other continents. Through the Monroe Doctrine, the United States eliminated European colonization in the Western hemisphere and became its most powerful nation. Through development of industry, the United States was able to grow as a manufacturing and trading power. As industry grew immigrants poured into the “land of opportunity” seeking what became known around the world as the “American dream”.

In which kind of trial jury or bench does a defendant have a better chance of acquittal

Answers

Answer:

A Jury

Explanation:

There are 12 people making the decision instead of 1

Answer:

Depends

Explanation:

I disagree with the other answer that 12 people making the decision makes it easier to be acquitted than with a judge. I would argue that with a jury you need to pursuade 12 people to acquit instead of just persuading 1. And Judges are generally especially likely to acquit given that they, as a lawyer, understand the concept of "reasonable doubt" a whole lot better. A lay jury can be persuaded to convict any client if the prosecutor is good. A judge, however, they usually will be a little bit tougher on the state prosecuting the case. In addition, if a judge is deciding the case, you also may be able to get your client acquitted just as a matter of law if there is a loophole in a relevant statute. Those kinds of loopholes wouldn't work with a lay jury who is not educated in the law.

Judging by the large number of medieval-themed books and movies, it's more popular than ever. Much like today, the characters in these medieval works all had clearly defined jobs or roles to play. Like today's occupations, these roles were all part of a process of career growth. For example, knights only became knights after a long, three-step process. If, at the age of seven, a boy displayed very good manners, smarts, and courage, his parents might decide they wanted him to become a knight. He would spend the next seven years as a page, performing simple duties such as helping knights with their horses and armor. After completing training as a page at around age 14, the boy would become a squire. A squire took on more responsibility and received more hands-on instruction in fighting and battle strategy. He would sometimes ride into battle with a knight and assist him. In some cases, the squire would even be required to fight in the knight's place if the knight was injured. At the age of 21, the squire was eligible to become a knight. First, he had to prove himself worthy by showing great bravery, wisdom, and devotion. worthy, he would be knighted in a ceremony where he vowed to protect his kingdom. Knights perform very different tasks from doctors, teachers, or professional athletes, but in each of these careers, there is a long process with clearly defined steps for moving up. Perhaps this is one of the reasons medieval culture has always fascinated us it has a sense of order that never went out of style 35 + 23 = whats the answer True/False: For the same system, heterogeneous nucleation will occur at less undercooling than homogeneous nucleation. schermo di visualizzazione principale per pubblicit esterna leddisplayco.it
